This Mayim Achronim set is made of wood and features a beautiful illustration of the Seven Species.The Seven Species (Hebrew: שבעת המינים‎, Shiv’at HaMinim) are seven agricultural products – two grains and five fruits – that are listed in the Bible (Deut 8.8) as being special products of the Land of Israel. The Seven Species listed are wheat, barley, grapes (wine), fig, pomegranates, olive (oil), and dates (honey). A very cheerful way to end your meal. As this piece is covered with three layers of lacquer, it is totally functional and waterproof and may be hand-washed.
Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel’s work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
