This marvelous Torah scroll is made out of silver with magnificent details in different colors, while beads and jewels decorate the body of the scroll. In the center, Jerusalem is portrayed with its unique streets, walls, houses and golden rooftops. The Golden Gate adds a special charm to the design..
The Golden Gate is the oldest of the current gates in Jerusalem’s Old City Walls. The gate was the scene of a meeting between the parents of Mary, Joachim and Anne, whose meeting at the Golden Gate became a standard subject in cycles depicting the Life of the Virgin. It is also said that Jesus passed through this gate on Palm Sunday.
The Torah scroll is a long scroll in which the Five Books of Moses are kept safe. The scrolls are handwritten in original Hebrew and are rolled up around two shafts, both attached to one end of the entire scroll.
The Jerusalem design is extremely meaningful, for its place in the life of Jesus gives it great importance, in addition to its place in the Old Testament.
For art lovers and Christian friends, this item is the perfect choice!
