Dimensions: 15.7" x 1.9"/40 x 5 cm
Material: Ceramic, Silver Electroforming
Crafted from 925 electroformed silver and covered with porcelain, this hollowed out Shofar can actually be blown. It is silver in color with white details on both ends. The center is also colored in silver with golden rooftop buildings of Jerusalem decorating the main body. Written across the Shofar is the word, “Jerusalem,” in gold. The Shofar is accompanied by a stand that makes it perfect for display. Mentioned in the “Torah ” (Hebrew for Bible) over 70 times, the Shofar is used powerfully as an instrument of God in accomplishing His purpose. In the Scriptures, the word Shofar – שׁוֹפָר first occurs in Exodus 19:16 when the Torah was first given to Israel – Shavuot (i.e., “Pentecost”): “On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud on the mountain and a very loud Shofar blast “קל שׁפָר חָזָק מְאד”, so that all the people in the camp trembled…. And as the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him in thunder.” This Shofar blast is sometimes called the “first trump” of God.
