This classic set by Yair Emanuel features a tallit, a kippah and a matching bag. Made out of white fabric, this set is embroidered with beautiful scenes of Jerusalem, its homes and golden roofs. The tallit features this Jerusalem pattern on a beautiful white background, embroidered on top of the white fabric, and displays four stripes that decorate the tallit in white. The tallit also displays the sentence in Hebrew, “…asher kideshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu lehitatef betzitzit” across the yoke of the beautiful shawl, meaning “G-d made us holy through commanding us to don the tzitzit”. The kippah is white and adorned with the streets of the Holy City. The matching bag is white and has the Hebrew word “Tallit”, framed by the word in the same Jerusalem texture that embellishes the entire set. Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel’s work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
